Youth Alive is the brainchild of Deepbond Global Sports Initiative; a not-for-profit organisation that employs sports, primarily the game of basketball, as a medium to reach individuals of diverse ages and background and assist them in maximizing potential and fulfilling the will of God concerning their lives.
At Deepbond, we are driven by the understanding that sports does not only keep one fit physically, but also teaches the fundamental life ethics of discipline, hard-work, perseverance, team-work, and staying calm under pressure.
The Youth Alive Basketball League (YABL) is one designed for all round development of its participants by showcasing the vital role of sports and education; and the target age groups are children, teenagers and young adults of both genders.
The maiden edition of the YABL was held from August 7th to 9th, 2008 in Lagos, Nigeria, with about 180 (one hundred and eighty) participants in attendance. Initially starting out as a 3-day program held annually, Youth Alive now enjoys a league format that runs for 6 months in a year, with a cross-country reach and almost 700 (seven hundred) participants recorded across the 30 (thirty) teams who joined the 17th edition held in 2024.

Charles played at the Youth Alive Basketball League from 2010 to 2015 representing "Del Basketball Academy". He traveled to the USA in 2015 and currently plays for San Anthony Spurs, an NBA Team in America
ELIZABETH BALOGUN
Elizabeth played in Youth Alive Basketball Championship representing Rookies from 2011 till she traveled to the USA in 2016. She is currently playing for the Nigeria Female National Team “D’Tigress” and will be at the 2024 Olympic Games
IFUNANYA OKORO
Ifunaiya is a Youth Alive Alumni who played for Deepbond from 2011 to 2016. She played for the First Bank Female Basketball Team and later played for Teams abroad. She is currently playing for the Nigerian Female National Team “D’Tigress” and will be at the 2024 Olympic Games

On the 19th of December, 2024, Akinwande Oshodi from Elevate Basketball Academy organized a Basketball Clinic for Under 14 players at the Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria. He plans to sustain this initiative to help underprivileged children who are passionate about the game.

The city of Lagos witnessed an electrifying conclusion to the inaugural edition of the Eko Basketball League, as Hoops & Read basketball team emerged victorious, defeating Deepbond 66-63 in a heart-stopping final match, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
